The London Olympics: Sponsored by McDonald's?

Ba-Da-Ba-Ba-Ba! I'm loving it! How ironic can it possibly be that McDonald's, the largest fast food chain in the world, is sponsoring the London Summer Olympics, the great competition amongst the greatest athletes in the world. In many people's opinions, it is not appropriate for McDonald's to sponsor the Olympics, and there may be a point to that. The world's greatest competition promoting the strength and skill of athletes is being sponsored by the world's greatest contributor to the obesity crisis in the United States!

Many are against this sponsorship as nutrition and wellness enthusiasts state that this could give viewers the wrong message. It will make people think that they can eat as much fatty foods, such as McDonald's, as much as the want so long as the exercise. Some viewers may even go further to think that the Olympics competitors themselves eat McDonald's food. In my opinion, this is a reach. Honestly, you can complain about McDonald's being a sponsor, but the fact of the matter is that without sponsors like McDonald's, there would be no Olympic games. Am I right?
