
Today, the ETP (Energy Transfer Partners) hatched a deal to purchase Sunoco for $5,300,000,000. It is said that through this deal, though the Energy Transfer is gaining some older refineries that may need updating, they have also received all of Sunoco's 4,900 gas stations and 7,900 miles of crude oil and fuel pipelines. This deal seems to work well for the both of them. Owners of Sunoco claim that they will be attempting to leave the refining business once the deal is finished, which is expected to happen sometime in the first quarter.
