Virgin Mobile to Begin Selling iPhone

If you do not know what Virgin Mobile is, don't hesitate. They are just a branch off of mobile phone company Sprint that only sells prepaid, no contract phone (aka pay-as-you-go). Virgin Mobile announced this morning that they will begin selling the iPhone 4S with their no contract service. The basic model will start out at $549. Sure, that sounds high, but at the same time, the monthly payment is extremely low, starting at $30/month. In the end, you will be paying around $1200 (excluding tax) for the phone and two years of service. This actually comes out to be $800 less than other providers such as Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. It surely is something to consider. With a growing industry for the no-contract phone market, Virgin Mobile is looking to have a cash cow on their hands. Leap Communications, another no contract phone brand, began selling the iPhone last week. It just shows that the industry and market for smart phones are certainly changing.
