Former Egyptian President Sentenced to Life in Prison

Hosni Mubarak
We all remember the public uprising in Egypt last year, and the center of the entire matter was Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. The people wanted Mubarak to step down, and after about a month of revolts and harsh protest, he resigned the position after 30 years in office. For the last few months, the ill 84-year old Mubarak has stood trial on charges of the murders of many protesters during that time, and Mubarak, his sons, and a family friend all were charged with corruption. Mubarak, his sons, and the family friend, who is currently on the run, were all cleared of the corruption charge, but Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison for murder. The protesters' families cried "execution" when the sentence was heard. The judge did not hold back his criticism of Mubarak when handing down his sentence, calling his time in office as president "30 years of darkness." Mubarak will spend the rest of his life in a prison hospital. (for more information, see the link below)
