Many advocates of the action movie genre (myself included) are deeply saddened by action movie actor Jackie Chan's announcement that he will retire from action movies. He states that he loves working in action movies, but there is just too much violence in the world right now. He loves action, but does not love violence. It makes sense if you think about it. He also states that his age will begin to hinder him sooner or later, and he thinks that it would be better if he tried to make it as an actor in his own right and not as just the comedian/martial artist that brightened the screen in movies such as Rumble in the Bronx, Shanghai Noon (and its sequel, Shanghai Knights), and all three installments of the Rush Hour movies. We will most certainly miss Jackie Chan's old style, but maybe looking for other acting ventures will be good for him. Think about it; he is almost 60. (for more information, link is below)
