California To Vote On Death Penalty Issue

Slowly, the United States is purging the death penalty as a legal and valid punishment for criminals who committed major offenses. Many opponents of the death penalty state that it is cruel and unusual punishment to sentence someone to death. Opponents will be excited now that the population of the state of California will vote on the serious issue this upcoming November. The death penalty question qualified to make the ballot this year, giving the state of California the chance to be the 17th state to declare the death penalty as null and void. The latest state to do so was Illinois just last year. If the provision in California passes, all of the criminals on death row in the state will have their sentences converted to life in prison without possibility of parole. (link to article below)
